After practicing law for over twenty years, Eric Palatnik has become one of New York City’s most prominent zoning and land use attorneys. Representing property owners, developers, and architects, Mr. Palatnik has built a remarkable record of success. He has spent thousands of hours advocating for his clients before the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Department of Buildings, and the Environmental Control Board. In addition to his representing clients before local Community Boards, civic organizations , and in presentations to elected officials. Mr. Palatnik offers unique advice and insight into his cases so as to support his clients’ projects until they are complete.

Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Palatnik practiced law at a boutique zoning and land use firm for five years. He has previously served on the City Bar's Land Use Planning and Zoning committee.
Mr. Palatnik received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1997, and his undergraduate degree in Housing and Economics from Cornell University in 1991. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
Trevis Savage (Office Manager)
Ms. Savage is the Office Manager at Eric Palatnik, P.C. She has been with the firm for 15 years, and during that time has overseen all types of applications and related matters before the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Department of Buildings, and the Environmental Control Board.
Prior to joining Eric Palatnik, P.C., Ms. Savage had a lengthy career in City government including over 15 years as the Deputy Director at the Board of Standards and Appeals and 5 years at the Department of Consumer Affairs, culminating in her role as the agency’s Assistant Director for License Issuance.
Eugene Pilman (Associate)
Mr. Pilman has been with the firm since 2013, and has been an associate at the firm since 2015. He is experienced in advising clients on development potential and has represented clients in all aspects of land use applications from inception to development before the City Planning Commission, Board of Standards and Appeals, Department of Buildings, and various other City agencies.
Mr. Pilman received his Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2015, and his Bachelor of Art degree from Hunter College in 2012. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
elyse foladare (Associate)
Ms. Foladare has been an associate at the firm since 2016. She handles various land use, zoning, and real estate matters, specializing in applications before the Board of Standards and Appeals. She also has experience working on various applications before the City Planning Commission.
Ms. Foladare received her Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law, J.D. cum laude, in 2016 with an Environmental Law Certificate, and her B.A. in Anthropology from Bard College in 2012. She is licensed to practice law in New York.
Eli Gewirtz (Associate)
Mr. Gewirtz has been an associate at the firm since July 2018, and works on various matters concerning the zoning and construction codes of New York. This includes applications and appearances before the City Planning Commission, Board of Standards and Appeals, Department of Buildings, and the Environmental Control Board.
Prior to joining Eric Palatnik, P.C., Mr. Gewirtz was a zoning and building code consultant at Design 2147; and during law school was a legal intern at the NYC Department of City Planning, NYC Department of Buildings, and the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office. Additionally, he is a member of City Bar's Land Use Planning and Zoning committee.
Mr. Gewirtz received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 2016, his Masters in Urban Policy and Planning from Hunter College in 2017, and his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University, cum laude, in 2012. He is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
